Hue Imperial City ticket prices and combo routes for 2026

The single ticket is fine for one stop; the route tickets win as soon as you add two tombs.

VerdictSeeing the Imperial City and two tombs? Buy a route ticket. Just the citadel? The VND 200,000 single is enough.

The Hue Imperial City ticket costs VND 200,000 for an adult and VND 40,000 for a child. The official schedule also lists route tickets that include the Imperial City, with separate adult and child rates for each combination.

On the ticket page of the Hue Monuments Conservation Centre, checked in October 2026, single-site fees apply from 2 June 2026 and route (combo) fees from 4 January 2026. The Imperial City appears under its Vietnamese name, Đại Nội Huế, with an adult price and a child price.

If you also want to see royal tombs, the route tickets below bundle the Imperial City with two or three of them. Vietnam Tourism, the national tourism site, describes the palaces of the citadel and the tombs of emperors Tu Duc, Minh Mang and Khai Dinh as what survives of the Nguyen dynasty's 143-year reign, which is why most route tickets pair them.

Which Hue route tickets include the Imperial City?

Each three-site route pairs the Imperial City with two of the Minh Mang, Tu Duc and Khai Dinh tombs, and the four-site route includes all three. The all-sites route is labeled only as combining all heritage sites; the page does not list what it includes.

The page gives one price per route, with no split per stop and no price for using part of a route.

A short UNESCO film on the Complex of Hué Monuments, made with NHK, shows the citadel and the royal tombs these tickets cover.

Who counts as a child on Hue tickets?

The schedule defines children as ages 7 to 12, and every ticket in the table, the all-sites route included, has its own child price.

Our Hue overview covers the city itself, and the Vietnam costs page puts these fees next to the other sight prices we track. If you are still choosing where to stay in central Vietnam, see the Hue or Da Nang comparison; the rest of the trip checklist is on the Vietnam trip planning page.

What the tombs cost on their own

The same page prices each royal tomb and the smaller sites separately, also from 2 June 2026. Children aged 7 to 12 pay at three tombs and go free everywhere else on this list.

Three two-site routes leave out the Imperial City: Minh Mang with Gia Long for VND 240,000, Tu Duc with Dong Khanh for VND 200,000, and the Royal Antiquities Museum with An Dinh Palace for VND 80,000.

Is a Hue Imperial City ticket cheaper in a route?

Yes, for the routes we can add up. Bought one by one, the Imperial City with the Minh Mang and Khai Dinh tombs comes to VND 500,000 for an adult, while the three-site route is VND 420,000, so the route saves VND 80,000. With all three tombs the separate tickets add up to VND 650,000 against VND 530,000 for the four-site route, a VND 120,000 difference. For a child the same two routes save VND 20,000 and VND 30,000. These sums are our own arithmetic from the page's prices. The all-sites route cannot be compared this way because the page does not list what it includes.

How to buy Hue imperial city tickets

The Hue Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism's e-ticket instructions describe a digital purchase path. They say to open the e-ticket homepage or scan its QR code, choose a site, enter the number of adults and children, and select a policy ticket if applicable. The form then asks for a phone number and email address to send the ticket code.

For payment, the page lists QR payment through a domestic bank. It also lists cash or a bank card when buying at a counter. For cash, our Vietnam ATM fees guide lists what five banks' machines charge a foreign card. After payment, the instructions say to save the ticket code or retrieve it from the registered email; they also say the code can be looked up with the customer phone number. The last listed step is to scan the ticket code at the entrance.

The steps do not give a counter address. For getting to Hue in the first place, see our Vietnam getting-around page and the nearest airports with flights in Vietnam airports by destination. If you are visiting in autumn, central Vietnam in October has the rain records for Hue.

Under a traveler's photos of the Imperial City posted to r/VietNam, one user wrote:

"Great to see a tourist at the Imperial City for once! Feels like this historical attraction is paradoxically consistently skipped over for cliche stuff like Hanoi train street, Dalat, and downtown Saigon."

What we could not confirm

The fee schedule does not state Imperial City opening hours or night-entry hours. Vietnam Tourism warns that heavy rain and typhoons can hit Hue from September to November, but the ticket pages say nothing about closures in bad weather, so check before you go in the wet season. The e-ticket instructions explain ticket-code handling, but do not give a ticket validity period. The instructions mention counter payment without giving a counter location.

A separate Hue tourism price page is marked as updated in December 2023, so its prices are older than the schedule above and are not used here.

Our take on the Hue Imperial City ticket

It comes down to how many sites you'll see. If you plan to see the Imperial City and at least two of the Minh Mang, Tu Duc and Khai Dinh tombs, buy a route ticket, since every route we could add up costs less than the same tickets bought one by one. If the Imperial City is your only stop, the VND 200,000 single ticket is all you need. Skip the all-sites route unless you can find out what it covers, because the official page does not say. If the trip carries on south to Hoi An, the Cham temple site at My Son sells its own ticket; our My Son Sanctuary ticket price guide has it, with the shared guide ticket.

How we checked this

We read 3 sources on 2026-10-07 and 2026-10-08: the Hue Monuments Conservation Centre ticket page, the Hue Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism e-ticket instructions and Vietnam Tourism's Hue page. Vietnam Tourism later moved and rewrote its Hue page, so we re-read it at the new address on 2026-10-12 and updated the weather note. Every price and date in this article matches a line in our source log; the route savings are our own arithmetic from the official prices.

On 2026-10-21 we read the ticket page, the e-ticket steps, the older price page and Vietnam Tourism's Hue page again: every price, effective date and step is unchanged, the ticket page still gives no opening hours, and the route savings add up the same. Last reviewed 2026-10-21.
