The UK government’s travel advice gives the rain season as June to September in the north and south and October to December in central Vietnam, with seasonal flooding in central Vietnam in October and November.
The station tables agree for the north, where the wettest month at every northern place falls between July and September, and for the centre, where Phong Nha, Hue, Hoi An and Quy Nhon are all wettest in October with November second or third. The south is mixed: Phu Quoc (August) and Da Lat (September) peak inside the June to September window, while the Mekong Delta and Con Dao peak in October and Nha Trang in November.
Tropical cyclones are a separate risk that averages hide. The same advice says the season normally runs from May to November. See health and safety.
