Nha Trang weather in November reaches its wettest point in the station table, while nearby Quy Nhon peaks in October. These are station averages for a typical month, not a forecast.

Nha Trang reaches its wettest month

November is Nha Trang's wettest month at 381.6 mm and 18 rain days. October records 312.3 mm and 17.6 rain days, while December falls to 191.4 mm and 14.4 rain days. All twelve months are in our guide to the best time to visit Nha Trang.

The dry-month contrast is sharp. February records 16.1 mm, 4.3 rain days, and 208.7 sun hours. The table therefore puts November at the wet end of a year that has a much drier February.

November's mean temperature is 25.8°C, compared with 26.7°C in October and 24.7°C in December. In Fahrenheit, 25.8°C is about 78°F. The rain peak does not arrive with the year's highest mean temperature.

The whole-year records are in the month-by-month guide linked above.

Asked whether El Niño would shape the coming rainy season, one r/VietNam user described the last one in Nha Trang:

"[...] we saw a normal rainy season, albeit with the majority coming down in just one week, killing dozens, which definitely isnt normal."

Both places drop sharply in December. Quy Nhon has more rain and more rain days than Nha Trang in all three months. Its November rain total is 464.3 mm, with 21.9 rain days. Nha Trang's November total is 381.6 mm, with 18 rain days.

Quy Nhon peaks one month earlier

Quy Nhon's wettest month is October at 521 mm, and November is second at 464.3 mm. December falls to 205.5 mm, but remains above Nha Trang's 191.4 mm.

The dry contrast is also different in scale. Quy Nhon's February row records 28.2 mm, 6.6 rain days, and 187.4 sun hours. Nha Trang's February row is lower at 16.1 mm and 4.3 rain days, with 208.7 sun hours.

Sun hours fall through the three months. Nha Trang moves from 183.1 in October to 140.4 in November and 136.5 in December. Quy Nhon moves from 163.1 to 123.2 and then 111.4.

The rain-day peaks also differ from the wettest-month labels. Nha Trang's wettest month and highest rain-day month are both November, at 381.6 mm and 18 days. Quy Nhon's highest rain-day value is November at 21.9, even though October has the higher rain total.

Getting there

Nha Trang's nearest airport with scheduled flights is CXR Cam Ranh International Airport, 27 km from the map pin in a straight line. Quy Nhon's is UIH Phu Cat Airport, also 27 km. These are straight-line distances, not road times. The Vietnam airports by destination article lists the next nearest airports for both.

Our take

If November is your only window, Nha Trang is the better of the two: 381.6 mm against Quy Nhon's 464.3 mm, and 18 rain days against 21.9. Treat it as a wet month all the same and keep an indoor plan, because single days have brought more than 330 mm. If your dates can move, December is the easier month at both places, and February is the dry end of Nha Trang's year at 16.1 mm.

How we checked this

Every climate figure comes from QCVN 02:2022/BXD, the Ministry of Construction's climate regulation, read from the PDF on 8 October 2026 and matched value by value to the rows for the Nha Trang and Quy Nhon stations. The airport codes and airline service come from each airport's OurAirports page, read the same day; the distances are our own straight-line measurements. Photo credits come from each photo's Wikimedia Commons or Unsplash page.

What this does not tell you

The Nha Trang station is 5 m above sea level and 2 km from its map pin. Quy Nhon's is 5 m and 1 km from its pin. The table does not measure sea conditions, a beach's shelter, or rain at a particular hotel. The regulation does not state the observation period of these tables.
