Hue or Da Nang depends on the month and measure. Compare station temperatures, rain, sun hours and nearby airports without a blanket recommendation.

Hue or Da Nang depends on the month and on the measure you care about. We compare the two station records and their listed airports below; the averages describe a typical month, not a forecast.
The records show a shared central-coast pattern with a different scale in several months. Hue's station is 4 km from its map pin. The Da Nang station is 22 km from the combined Hoi An and Da Nang pin, so we label that record carefully.

| Dec | 20.7 | 349.9 | 20.2 | 76 | 22.2 | 218.4 | 18.7 | 94.8 |
From September to December both stations are at their wettest, and Hue is wetter than Da Nang in rainfall and in rain days in each of those months.
If the measure is the lowest rainfall total, the Da Nang record reaches 23.6 mm in February and 25 mm in March. Hue's lowest monthly rainfall is 51.3 mm in March. Those are the lowest values for each record, not a recommendation about where to go.
If the measure is the coolest mean, Hue's January value is 19.9°C and Da Nang's January value is 21.5°C. On the other end of the table, Da Nang reaches a mean of 29.4°C in June, while Hue reaches 29.3°C in June.
The sun-hour column favors different peaks. Da Nang records 246.7 sun hours in May, its highest value. Hue records 236.7 in July, its highest value. October is wettest in both records, at 772.7 mm for Hue and 628 mm for Da Nang. November has the most rain days in both, at 20.9 for Hue and 20.3 for Da Nang.
The Hue destination page and the Hoi An and Da Nang page keep each station tied to its destination label. For the three-place October comparison, see central Vietnam in October.
The airports below have scheduled service and are listed by straight-line distance from each map pin, not by road distance.
| Place record | Nearest listed airports |
|---|---|
| Hue | HUI Phu Bai International Airport, 14 km; DAD Da Nang International Airport, 80 km; VDH Dong Hoi Airport, 158 km |
| Hoi An and Da Nang | DAD Da Nang International Airport, 23 km; VCL Chu Lai Airport, 67 km; HUI Phu Bai International Airport, 88 km |
The nearest listed airport is HUI at 14 km for Hue and DAD at 23 km for the combined Hoi An and Da Nang record. The airport rows do not say which airlines fly, how often they fly, or how long a road transfer takes.
The data favors different places depending on the month and the column. February and March show lower rain in the Da Nang record. March is Hue's driest month by rainfall. January is cooler in the Hue record. May is Da Nang's sunniest month, while July is Hue's sunniest month.
The tables describe the trade-offs but can't pick for you. The right choice depends on how you weigh temperature, rain, sun and airport distance. The Vietnam when-to-go guide can help with a wider route plan.
Our Da Nang record is for the combined Hoi An and Da Nang map pin. The station is 22 km from that pin, and we have no separate Hoi An record. Hue's station is 17 m above sea level and 4 km from its map pin; the Da Nang station is 6 m above sea level and 22 km away.
The table does not measure beach conditions, traffic, road time, airport schedules, storms, flooding, cloud cover, or local weather at a particular address. The regulation also does not state the observation period of its climate tables. We do not name one. Use the values as station context and check current transport and weather information for the dates you are considering.
